On May 22, 2021, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 10:00 AM at St Augustine's Church in Highland followed by interment at St. Michael is survived by his sister, Loretta (Anzivina) Miller and her husband Edward of Highland, NY his niece & nephews, Michael Miller (Debbie) of Warrenton, VA Francine Miller (Rob Borrero) of Marlboro, NY Steve Miller (Megan) of Allentown, NJ and his great nieces & nephew, Lauren, Katie, Kelly, and Ryan Miller. He was often seen around town wearing his trademark beret and enjoying a glass of wine at local establishments. Michael enjoyed personal travel, the outdoors including gardening and walking on the Hudson Valley Rail Trail. He was a member of the Syracuse Alumni Board, NYU Casa Italiana Club, Turtle Bay Association of NYC, and an active parishioner at St. Michael had an affinity for learning languages as he was considered a polyglot. He traveled to various locations throughout the world as an attorney for the UN Development Programme. His career path transitioned to the United Nations in South Africa, eventually returning to their headquarters in NYC. Following graduation, Michael served in the Foreign Service in Mogadishu, Somalia for two years. Michael graduated from Highland High School, then went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Syracuse University and a Juris Doctor from NYU. Michael was born on Apin Poughkeepsie, NY to the late Michael and Frances (Passanando) Anzivina. Anzivina, 79, a dual resident of Highland, New York and NYC, passed away after a brief illness on March 3, 2021, at Mid-Hudson Medical Center.
